With the development of intelligent transportation,VANET(Vehicular Ad Hoc Network)has drawn more and more attention.ICN(Information Centric Network)is more suitable for VANET environments on account of its content-centric forwarding mechanism which supports mobility and multicasting inherently.However,the combination of ICN and VAENT brings also new problems.In the wireless environment,broadcasting will bring a large number of forwarding packets and cause loop forwarding,which may result in channel conflicts and even broadcast storm.At the same time,frequent changes of topology will lead to link interruption.If too few packets are forwarded in the network,lower request success rate may be caused.Moreover,the changes of vehicular environment have a great impact on the balance of the above two issues.This thesis considers the combination of ICN and VANET and proposes an efficient information distribution mechanism for ICN-based VANET.The purpose of the proposed mechanism is to realize the request process with forwarding packets as few as possible and time delay as short as possible in different VANET environments.The mechanism involves the following issues as a whole.1.To avoid channel collision and broadcast storm,the thesis proposes the deferral algorithm and data forwarding algorithm based on geographic location,which reduce the number of forwarding packets and save bandwidth.2.To improve the request success rate,this thesis designs an angle-suppression algorithm,which ensures the reachability of the key paths.3.To adapt to the changes of environment,the thesis designs a density sensing module,which can monitor the density of the vehicles and adjust dynamically the data transmission routes in different traffic conditions.4.The thesis also design a GUI visualization system.The users can set the priority of different types of information on the platform.The content with higher priority can be sent firstly,which makes full use of the limited bandwidth and makes the system more scalable and flexible.Finally,the thesis has carried on simulations and evaluated the performance of the proposed algorithms.OpenStreetMap and SUMO tools are used to generate the vehicle movement model.ndnSIM simulation platform is used to realize and test the functions of the system.The performance metrics of requests' successful rate,packet loss rate,network throughput,round-trip delay and hops are evaluated.The results show that the proposed mechanism can improve the efficicency of data distribution in VANET.
