Three-axis force of tyre–road refers to the traction direction force(Fx),lateral force(Fy)and vertical force(Fz)generated by the contact between the tire and the road surface. It has great significance for the study of roads and vehicles. The existing measurement methods mainly use electromagnetic type sensing devices and instruments, and the signals of the instruments are susceptible to electromagnetic interference, and the current measurement results are not ideal.Fiber grating is a new type of sensing element.Fiber grating-based sensors have the advantage that traditional sensors cannot match, and these advantages determine that they are more suitable for the measurement of three-axis force of tire-road contact. In this paper,a three-axis stress sensor based on the principle of fiber grating is developed. The main research contents include the following aspects.1)According to the practical measurement needs of the contact force of the tire path and the gluing, measuring and sensing characteristics of the fiber grating sensor,a sensor elastic body with a simple structure and suitable for practical application is designed. And its simulation analysis to ensure its theoretical feasibility.2)Sensor preparation and performance testing, including range, sensitivity, repeatability, and creep performance,as well as coupling between dimensions, were decoupled using the two decoupling methods for coupling, and a better decoupling method was selected for comparison.3)The fiber grating three-axis force sensor is used for actual measurement.A special sensor mounting structure was designed. The sensor was mounted on a lab tire loader independently developed by the laboratory for field test. The actual measurement results are compared with the existing conclusions to prove the applicability of the sensor.
