The marine environment is complex and changeable,there are many factors such as serious sea conditions,the defects of ship structure,unreasonable loading or human errors,which are easy to cause the damage on the hull structure.It is difficult to predict the random factors of causing structure damage by experience and theory when the ship is designed and constructed.Therefore,one of the solutions for this problem is to design and establish the ship structure monitoring and assessment system,which monitors the stress and evaluates of structural strength.However,the research of the ship structure monitoring and assessment system is in the initial stage of development,there are still some imperfections in engineering practice.In order to improve the applicability and reliability of the system in practical application,the optimization and improvement methods,the sensor fault diagnosis methods and the preliminary prototype of the ship structure monitoring and assessment system have been studied in this paper,The main contents are as follows:1.According to requirements of CCS rules,the initial stress setting method for ship monitoring points,the data processing module and the structure strength assessment module have been optimized and improved according to requirements of CCS.2.According to the basic principle of FBG sensing technology and the characteristics of FBG sensor,the applicability of FBG sensor in ship structure monitoring has been studied by related experiment.In order to meet the requirements of ship structural stress monitoring,the most suitable type of FBG sensor has been given.3.The possible failure types and reasons of ship monitoring sensors have been analyzed.And the fault diagnosis methods of FBG sensor have been studied and given.Integrated these studies,monitoring system fault diagnosis module has been designed and monitoring system sensor fault diagnosis methods have been verified by numerical simulation of hull structure response and relevant experiments.4.Based on the FBG sensing technology,communication technology and data processing technology,The FBG sensor,fiber grating demodulator and the ship structure monitoring and assessment system software have been taken as the main part to establish the preliminary prototype.Then the functions of the ship structure monitoring and assessment system have been checked by stress signal simulation and experiment.The results verify the accuracy and reliability of the ship structure monitoring and assessment system prototype.
