Exploring User Research With CAUX Supported Diary

User experience research is an important link in the process of product design and development in industry.In the era of mobile internet,using product is becoming ubiquitous,which is a challenge to collect user data in this environment.Diary method as one of popular user research methods that help researchers to understand the behaviour and intention of user in a real environment without being present.However,diary method has some limitations in the implementation and application.For example,users often forget to record and selectively record the diary,which all affect the quality of diary to a certain extent,which may result in researchers miss the valuable discovery.The CAUX developed by this research group relies on context-aware technology and collects a large number of user experience data,which provides the possibility to overcome limitations of the diary method.The author uses the research strategy of "learning by doing" and thought of iterative design to applies CAUX to the diary research cases.In the process of using CAUX supporting diary user research,we continuously explore the capabilities,methodology and advantages of CAUX.The method of CAUX supporting diary is used to carry out user research,and continuously explore and construct this method.Firstly,through the small scale experiments of mobile shopping and cross-APP behavior,which determines that CAUX should have ability to remind users based on context-aware technology,use objective data served as clues to help users recall,and help users to automatically record,semi-automated analyze qualitative and quantitative data with visualization;At the same time,through iteration and exploration of experiments,the methodology of user research using CAUX to support diary method was established and confirmed.Finally,case study were conducted using tool method based CAUX and traditional diary method respectively,comparative analysis of diary and results to explore and demonstrate the advantages and value of CAUX supporting diary method.The author proposes a user research method of CAUX supporting diary and completes the methodology.The results show that this methodology is universal,and the CAUX tool method has obvious advantages over the traditional diary method in the quantity and quality of diary and case results,which overcomes the limitations of the diary method to a extent and improves the effectiveness,accuracy and richness of user diary.This not only opens up a new direction for CAUX,but also provides a basis for further research and promotion of user research in diary method,as well as provides a new idea for user-centered design method in mobile internet environment.
