The design of tool for composite part is one of the most important context of composite component manufacturing.With the large-scale application of composite materials in aviation industry,the traditional design and manufacturing technology of tool is difficult to meet fast,standardized,specification design and manufacturing requirements.Based on the summary of current tool design and manufacturing process,this paper develop a rapid design system of die and introduced new manufacturing technology.Composite part tool form and tool materials has been analyzed.And the tool design has been decomposed into tool surface design and support structure design.In tool surface design,a modified method has been proposed based on the traditional correction technique.The mothed is validated by ABAQUS,which provides a new solution.In addition,the support structure has been designed combined with the tool design process and specification applied in enterprise.The design system of composite part tool has been developed based on CATIA,which addes part features of tool to the structure tree in the form of costom.The designer uses necessary parameters to instantiate parts of tool and edit parameters to modulation of tool.The improved solution of surface manufacturing craft has been proposed according to the principle of discretization and simple mould forming technology.Some common surface manufacturing technologies have been introduced.And some problems that need to be solved in actual production has been summarized.
