As a kind of renewable energy,the wave energy exhibits abundant reserves and high predictability.Therefore,the wave energy generation is paid more and more attentions.To the direct-driven wave energy generation system with the advantages of low cost and high efficiency,the linear machines are adopted to directly transform linear motion of wave to electric energy without any intermediate transmission mechanism.The linear machines are key component of direct-drive wave energy generation system.A Flux Reversal Linear Machine(FRLM)is introduced in this thesis due to the advantages of simple structure,sturdy and reliable,high power density,good fault tolerance and so on.It is a new type of linear machine that has emerged in recent twenty years.But there is little literature on FRLM for power generation.Firstly,the basic structure,principle and mathematical model of FRLM are introduced.Secondly,four kinds of FRLM with different slot/pole combinations are compared,and then two kinds are chosen to be optimized by the finite element method.By deeply compared these optimized structures,the best one is obtained.Thirdly,the influence of longitudinal end effect on power generation performance of FRLM is studied.Fourthly,the performance of FRLM is compared with that of Switched Flux Linear Machine(SFLM)from multiple perspectives.The results show that FRLM has smaller size and lower cost.Finally,the prototype of FRLM is tested to verify the results of predicted analysis.
