In this paper,the propagation of waves in the periodic beam structure under external excitation is studied by the multiple reflection method.The effectiveness of the multiple reflection method is verified by comparison with the transfer matrix method.Firstly,the research background,significance,and research status of wave propagation in periodic structure are introduced.Secondly,the partial differential equation of the beam is given,and the fourth-order partial differential equation is solved numerically.It is shown that the vibration can be regarded as the superposition of the wave,and the rationality of the vibration problem is explained.And several other methods to study the band gap characteristics in periodic structures are briefly introduced.Thirdly,the multiple reflection method is used to study the wave propagation in the two-component periodic beam structure.The formula of the multiple reflection method is deduced in detail.The effectiveness of the multiple reflection method is verified by comparison with the transfer matrix method.Fourthly,the wave propagation in the three-component periodic beam structure subjected to external excitation is studied,and the relationship between the amplitude and the incident wave frequency at any position of the three-component periodic beam is obtained.The frequency responses of the points at different positions are analyzed and compared.
