Recently,the corrosion and durability problem of traditional building materials have attracted much attentions.Fiber Reinforced Polymer(FRP),as the new materials in civil engineering,are currently finding their applications in bridge engineering because of the extraordinary behaviors,such as corrosion resistance,anti-fatigue,and lightweight and high strength.This paper aims to deal with the bending resistance of foam/grid sandwich panels.Firstly,the perturbation equations and analytic solutions of anisotropic plate are deduced based on the classical theory of thin plate using anisotropic mechanics.Secondly,three-point bending test is carried on to investigate the effect of foam core on the bending resistance of panels;moreover,the experimental results of foam/grid sandwich panels are compared with that of sandwich panels in the available literature,which shows that foam/grid sandwich panels possessbetter bending resistance.And then,specimens with different layers of inside filament-wound reinforcement(IFR)and outside filament-wound reinforcement(OFR)are fabricated to study the effect of inside/outside filament-wound reinforcement on the bending resistance of foam/grid sandwich panels.Finally,numerical simulation is performed by ABAQUS software,and the load displacement curve obtained by simulation are compared with that obtained by experimental research.The foam/grid sandwich panel shows better bending resistance than the sum of foam core and FRP skin.That is to say,the existence of foam core could prevent the hollow panel from buckling failure and losing their bearing capacity,and further improve the damage modes of the hollow panel effectively.Comparison of experimental results between foam/grid sandwich panel and sandwich panels shows that the bending resistance of foam/grid sandwich panel are improved significantly with the slight increasing of fiber content and weight.The above discussion has indicated that the foam/grid sandwich panel has outstanding performance in structural integrity,better stress transfer path,and layer failure pattern.Furthermore,the results of specimens with different layers of IFR and OFR in three-point bending test show that both IFR and OFR increase the section stiffness,and the winding force could also improve the structure integrity.Finally,the simulation results show that the load-displacement curveobtained by simulation agreed well with that obtained byexperimental research,and the stiffness calculated by the obtained relationship between load and displacement are proved to be accordance withregularities.
