Anti-Icing And De-Icing Technical Research Of The North Sea Semi-submersible Drilling Rig

Oil and oil gas are the important energy sources in the word,oil and oil gas sources are increasing depletion recent year,but have a large reserves in the sea.The Norway North Sea area is the major oil and gas field in the world,the rigs and ships which working in this area shall comply with the most strict rule of the world,include Acknowledgement of Compliance(AoC),Petroleum Safety Authority Norway(PSA),Norwegian Offshore Industry Standard(NORSOK),Norwegian Maritime Authority(NMA).COSL Prospector which is designed and built by CIMC Raffles,is the forth semi-submersible drill rig built for COSL.The Class Notation CLEAN,ICE-T,WINTERIZATION is applied for this rig,this Class Notation is allow the rig to work suitable for low temperature area.And this paper is based on COSL Prospector,study the rules of main Class in the world for Ice semi-submersible platform,analysis and summary the matters needing attention in design and build of Ice semi-submersible platform.The major achievement of this research could be summarized as follows:(1)Ice accretion analysis and summary of north sea semi drilling rig,major Class requirement applied.Analysis and summary the process of ice accretion in semi-submersible platform,and the way of forecast direction of ice accretion developing in semi-submersible platform.Study the rules of Ice semi-submersible platform for main Class in the world,emphasis of the work is DNV rules.Base on this summary the anti-ice and de-ice ways of north sea semi drilling rig;(2)Summary the design process of anti-icing design of weather deck area,include design of windbreak and anti freezing room,analysis of windbreak gravity load,wind load and ice load,design and calculation of the heat tracing system for escape way,helideck area,design and calculation of anti-icing piping for north sea semi drilling rig;(3)The main way for indoor area include heating system,venting system and air conditioning system.Summary the design process of HVAC system for indoor area,include heating system,calculation the power of space heater,design and calculation of venting system and air conditioning system;(4)Base on the different heating media,the heating source systems include steam heating system,hot water heating system,hot oil heating system and electrical heat tracing system.Summary the design and calculation process of heat source system for north sea semi drilling rig,include steam system and hot water system.
