Due to blind spot of the rearview mirrors,drivers cannot judge the traffic condition of adjacent lane timely and accurately on the highway.Impact accidents are likely to occur in lane changing.The vision solution is of low cost,but the light and weather adaptability is very poor.The existing radar solution is of high reliability,but it's of high cost.According to the above situation,The blind spot information system with low cost and high reliability has been developed based on millimeter wave radar in this dissertation.The radar performance index was designed and used as a reference to select radar.The radar working mode was determined.And the modulation signal waveform parameters were designed.The system hardware was built with 32-bit STMicroelectronics STM32F103VET6 chip as the core.The chip selection and circuit design principle of each function module were described,and the circuit board of hardware system was designed and tested.In order to shorten the development time,the firmware library was used to develop software algorithm,the modulation signal waveform was generated by timer interrupt,the FIR digital filter coefficients were obtained by using Matlab FDATool toolbox,the IF frequency was obtained by using radix-4 FFT,and then the principle of the algorithm was given and the simulation analysis were made to verify the feasibility of the algorithm.Finally,the test platform was built for blind spot information system,static experiment and dynamic experiment at low speed were carried out respectively.The test results were compared with the theoretical value,the causes of distance and velocity measurement error were analyzed,and the methods to improve the measurement accuracy were put forward.The system is able to measure the distance and velocity of target vehicle simultaneously,and restrict radar detection area by selecting appropriate installation angle.In addition,it is able to determine the moving direction of the target,set the warning threshold to assess accident risk level synthetically according to distance and velocity of target,and then provide drivers with different ways of warning to reduce the possibility of lane change accident.
