In order to study the dynamic characteristics of the micro-grid system, transient modeling and simulation are necessary.Transient modeling of the micro-grid system not only models the distributed power supplies, energy storage and controllers in the micro-grid,but also simulates each action of the power electronic switching devices.Transient modeling and simulation of micro-grid systems are mainly used to study the complex dynamic processes within the micro-grid system, such as power quality analysis, fault characteristics analysis, different types of operation under the control strategy.Transient simulation of the micro-grid is mainly used to analyze dynamic behaviors occurred in the grid, such as fault, power quality analysis, controls for different operations, etc.Since transient simulation targets on fast transient in the system,it must use detailed element models and small simulation step to obtain accurate simulation results. In order to accurately simulate the dynamic process of micro-grid system and real-time simulation,a micro-network real-time simulation platform with a variety of distributed power supplies is build up.In order to solve these problems, this paper firstly builds a transient model for PV,double-fed wind turbine, and micro-gas turbine. In addition,a multi-rate simulation algorithm is proposed, which uses smaller step size for subsystems containing power electronic components, and other systems adopt larger simulation steps to block the system. Finally,a simulation of a distributed power system is presented.Compared with EMTDC / PSCAD,this paper validates that the multi-rate simulation algorithm can improve the simulation accuracy of micro-grid distributed power system.
