Flywheel Energy Storage System(FESS)is one of the most important energy storage methods.Its advantages include high energy storage density,high efficiency and fast response.This thesis takes the FESS prototype designed by our laboratory as the control target in order to design a magnetic bearing controller which can be usd in the FESS prototype.After analyzing the basic structure and working principle of the controller,this thesis uses the calculate ability of DSP and the parallel processing ability of FPGA to realize a controller based on the master/slave design method of DSP and FPGA.Hardware design,software programming and system debugging are included in this thesis.The hardware design refers to the system demand,explans how to choose the main chips,as well as the schematic design and PCB design.Software programming includes DSP programming based on C language and FPGA programming based on Verilog language.In details,the software programming is about the PID algorithm,the EDMA communication,the AD sampling control and the PWM output.The system debugging first builds up the mathematical model of magnetic bearings,uses the Simulink to verify the PID controller and determines the PID parameter.This part also tests the features of basic modules.Thirdly,this part tests the sampling module and analyze the gap between theoretical and actual limit value.At last,this part tests the axial levitation control and achieves axial stable levitation of the flywheel rotor.
