As an excellent isolation bearing,friction pendulum bearing has been attracted wide attention from many scholars at home and abroad in recent years.How to use a relatively reasonable analysis model to simulate its mechanical behavior has become the focus of attention of scholars.After comparing the advantages and disadvantages of a variety of simulation methods,this paper presents a simplified simulation method which can take into account both simulation precision and computational efficiency.A simplified model of the corresponding friction pendulum bearing is constructed and the accuracy of the simulation is verified by finite element simulation and shaking table test.The main work of the paper is as follows:(1)Proposed a simplified model of the friction pendulum bearing consisting of a single pendulum and a non-linear spring based on the mechanical mechanism of the friction pendulum bearing.Analyzed the mechanical mechanism of the proposed simplified model.(2)Based on the finite element software ABAQUS,the simplified model of the friction pendulum and the corresponding solid model were established.The simulation results of the solid model were used to verify the hysteretic model,recoverability and the performance under dynamic load of the simplified model.The results showed that the simplified model and the solid model analysis result were very consistent and the computational efficiency of the simplified model was also much higher than the solid model.(3)The shaking table test was carried out on a simply supported beam structure with a friction pendulum bearing,and the finite element simulation of the test was carried out by using the simplified model proposed in this paper.The accuracy of the simplified model under dynamic loading was further verified by comparing the experimental data with the results of the finite element analysis.(4)The finite element simulation of the shaking table test of steel frame with friction pendulum bearing in known literature was carried out by using the simplified model proposed by this paper and the common analysis model of the friction pendulum bearing(Wen model).The applicability of the simplified model in real structure was verified by comparing the experimental data with the results of the finite element analysis,and its calculation accuracy and efficiency were evaluated.
