In the soft soil foundation treatment project of the port yard,if the knowledge of the soft soil is not enough,and the foundation treatment method is improper,the construction of the upper structure or the use of the later site may occur unstable and uneven settlement,which does not meet the design requirements,leads to greater economic losses and poor social impact.In order to do research on the application of new Technique of Vacuum Preloading in Combination with Surcharge Preloading for soft soil foundation of yard,the construction technologies of case area were analyzed and summarized based on the Foundation treatment project of the first phase of the coal terminal in Huizhou port,the conclusions come to that the thickness of soil cushion should be fulfilled with mechanical construction of plug drainage plate,the choice of plate inserting machine should consider geological conditions,and track plate inserting machine was used in lower bearing capacity layer.The constructions of medium fine sand cushion above membrane and the first stage load were important for the guarantee of vacuum degree,so it was necessary to strengthen management in order to avoid membrane damage and surface uplift.In addition,the analysis of monitoring and testing data of case area was useful to understand the mechanism of Vacuum Preloading in Combination with Surcharge Preloading,and the suitable plate and spacing are chosen.The design scheme was optimized during the construction in large scale ground treatment in the basis of construction experience of case area,choosing domestic ordinary plate,and the plate spacing was 0.9m,the thickness of soil cushion was 0.5~1.0m,and the effect of foundation treatment for optimized scheme was better,all monitoring and testing results meet design requirement,which is useful for the foundation treatment of similar areas.Especially,the new technology was obvious with energy saving over 50%,which has good economic and social benefits.
