| Epoxy polymer concrete(EPC)is a new kind of concrete-like composite,manufactured by blending epoxy resin with aggregates,where polymer acts as binder for the other components.Comparing with traditional cement concrete,EPC has the advantages of high strength and toughness,which promotes it to be a great potential high-performance pavement material.Currently,the investigation of the EPC is just at the infant stage,and plenty of testing and optimization works should be conducted before servicing in engineering applications.Through the investigation of the research status at home and abroad,various basic modeling method of concrete-like materials in numerical simulation is studied.In the present paper,the meso-structure model of the EPC were established to study the properties with numerical simulation.Firstly,the high volume content of aggregate in the EPC model are generated with the developed programs.The program was decoded with MATLAB to obtain the description of geometric parameters about the meso-structure model(Aggregate geometric information,aggregate gradation,aggregate volume content,etc.).And the APDL data are developed to output automatically and generate the meso-structure models in ANSYS.Meanwhile,the geometric model is difficult to be transformed into numerical model when the aggregate volume content is too high(over than 65%).Combined with the background-grid,based on the ANSYS and HYPERMESH/LS-DYNA two platforms,the numerical model of EPC is established successfully.Secondly,with the explicit dynamic algorithm of LS-DYNA,the influence of aggregate gradation and aggregate volume content on the mechanical properties of EPC was studied.According to the numerical results,the aggregate gradation has an effect on the tensile strength and compressive strength of the material.When the percentage of smaller particle size aggregate is higher,the tensile strength is higher,and the change on compressive strength is not obvious.The aggregate gradation has little effect on its elastic modulus.In the section of numerical simulation of aggregate volume content(40% to 75%),has a certain effect on tensile strength of the material aggregate volume content,but the value is very small;and the compressive strength and elastic modulus of the material increased with the increase of aggregate volume content,while the compressive and tensile failure strain decreased with the increase of aggregate volume content.Finally,the numerical model of EPC and SHPB system is established and the preliminary study on the impact behavior of EPC was carried out. |
