In this paper,on the basis of testing the performance of the polymer cement based coating the pullout tests were carried out to investigate bond behavior(failure modes, bond strength, bond stress slip curves)between plain steel bar coated with polymer cement based coating and concrete. The bond stress between coated steel bar and concrete keep a good state of uncoated one.The bond behavior between coated hot rolled ribbed steel bar and concrete were also been studied. The effect of the coating thickness, concrete grade and the diameter of the steel bar on the bond behavior were analysed. What can be found was that with the development of the coating thickness, the bond strength between coated steel bar and concrete can be increased, and with the increasing of the concrete grade the bond strength can also been enlarged. The peak load of the coated steel bar and concrete can be increased with the increasing of the diameter of the steel bar, while the bond strength between the coated steel bar and concrete could increase. The model to simulate the bond behavior between coated steel bar and concrete is established.By using the contact surfaces with cohesive behavior in ABAQUS,the slip between coated steel bar and concrete can be realized. The results of numerical simulation are close to that of experiments by comparing, indicating that the model using contact surfaces with cohesive behavior can reasonably predict the results of pullout tests. And the simulation coefficient of the interface were present.Finite element simulation of the specimens coated with polymer cement based coating handled by dynamic action were achieved by using the ABAQUS software. The effect of the coating on the natural frequency of vibration were studied. The specimens handled by earthquake and the impact action ware also simulated by the ABAQUS software. The effect of the coating on the specimens handled by earthquake and impact action were analysed. The mechanical property of the specimens under earthquake or impact action were also simulated. The simulation lays the foundation for the future experimental research and the application of the coating on engineering.
