In this paper,aiming at retaining wall safety assessment problem,the works as follows are studied in scientific research innovation and engineering application based on the structure reliability theory and latest structure analysis achievement.1.The reliability inverse analysis of retaining wall stability safety factor assessment method is proposed based on inductive analysis of existing research and in view of the defect that the parameter randomness cannot be considered by the traditional safety factor assessment method;2.Combining the deterministic analyzing model of retainig wall and the inverse reliability theory,the safety factor was calculating using the FERUM programm based on MALTLAB software;3.Taking the example of retainig wall as the research object,safety factors of overturning and slippage of retaining wall were calculating using the inverse reliability,as well as parameter sensitivity analysis,the results of which were compared with the deterministic results,which indicates that ignoring parameters uncertainty will produce overestimation of retainig wall stability safety level.
