Automat ic fiber placement(AFP)technology is one of the most advanced composite material automatic molding technology in the world,having the great signif icance in aviat ion industry.Developed countries have accumulated a lot of theoretical achievements and experience about AFP during past 30 years.In this paper,the open surface of the grid is taken as the object of study.Combining the mechanical factors and geometric factors,the paper designs a multi-path method to plan the fiber placement path.The main work is divided into the following aspects:(1)This paper discusses the design requirements and planning methods of AFP technology,and focuses on studying the failure modes and influence factor.Then,the failure model is established and the quantitative relationship is given.Besides,this paper deals with STL document format.(2)For the orientation ply information with no obvious sequence order,author selects the appropriate criteria to classify the orientation ply informat ion,and to reflect the classes on the meshed surface,forming the region division.Then,according to the local unique mechanical properties in different region,construct the adaptive reference path in each region,combining with the geometric factors.(3)Path planning with equal offset is implement ed in each region with the reference path,and the path planning with full coverage is calculated.When the path is generated,the corresponding solution to the problem of boundary treatment is given.In order to meet the requirements of fiber affordability,a quantitative formula based on the meshed surface is given to fix the key points.(4)According to the characteristics of the multi-path planning method,the new method of layers design will be presented.Different from the traditional des ign method,the new layers design can improve the contact effect between the blocks,strengthen the strength of components forming,(5)Using VC ++ 6.0 development platform,combined with OpenGL and SQL Server,the author developed the software module to verify the fiber path placement algorithm.
