The development of economy and society can not be separated from the energy, and the sustainable supply of energy is quite vital to the development of country.Energy reserve is really important to guarantee the sustainable supply of energy. The salt rock is taken as one of the excellent storage mediums for the underground depository which has great advantages compared with other energy storages. As the energy becomes a measure of national competitiveness, the salt rock naturally attracts more attention. However,in China, researches on the salt rock started later than other countries, and the properties of salt rock are different from that in other countries. In that case,we can not borrow the existing theories and techniques directly, and we must establish the theories and techniques for the characteristics of salt rock in China. In China, there are researches having been done and some results having been achieved. While the analytical researches on the gas cavern in bedded salt rock are mostly about elasticity. To further establish and perfect the theories of salt rock,it is necessary to get the viscoelastic and viscoplastic solutions of the gas cavern in bedded salt rock.Based on the elastic theory of the gas cavern in bedded salt rock, the paper uses the basic principles of rheology mechanics to solve the viscoelastic and viscoplastic solutions.(1)Comparing the models that are commonly used in the research on rheology mechanics and choosing the generalized Kelvin model, the elastic analytical solutions are transformed into the viscoelastic solutions by using the Laplace' transformation.(2)Based on the viscoelastic solutions, considering the viscoplastic theory of the salt rock, the visco-elastoplas model and the Mises yield condition are chosen to obtain the viscoplastic solutions of the gas cavern in bedded salt rock.(3)Selecting the appropriate calculation model and calculation parameters, the curves of viscoelastic and viscoplastic solutions are drawn by using the Maple and the Origin, and the distributions of stress and displacement are further analyzed.(4)A viscoelastic numerical analysis of the gas cavern in bedded salt rock is carried out with Flac3 D to compare its results with the theoretical solutions and verify the rationality of the analytical solutions.
