With the development of science and technology,industry level and people's life quality improve continually.There are more and more vehicles on the road and the traffic flow is increasing,which caused serious traffic congestion and led to a series of problems.Hence,many scholars pay high attention to the traffic problems.They put forward kinds of traffic models form different point of view,in order to obtain the methods of suppression traffic congestion.Especially,these scholars pay more attention to the role of the relationship between vehicles.They think that it is an important means to improve the stability of traffic flow by describing the inner mechanism of the effect and reveals the evolution law between vehicles.In 1961,Newell put forward a carfollowing model which depends on the optimal velocity and gave a detailed description of the optimal velocity(OV)function,which makes the study of traffic flow got breakthrough.Recently,based on the OVM,many scholars have researched the car-following model widespread.Some scholars of them study the discrete car-following model and name it coupled map(CM)carfollowing model.They introduce the control theory into the CM car-following model,by setting different feedback control signal,and obtain the stability conditions by using the control method,which have lots of the results.In recent years,the control method also has been applied in carfollowing model,but the results are few.In the paper,based on the car-following model and control method,we present some developed car-following model and obtain the stability conditions by using control method.The numerical simulations are used to display the results.We try to research the inner mechanism of the effect between and find some methods to suppress the traffic congestion.The contents of the dissertation are as follows:?.The control method for the multi-phase traffic modelBased on the OV car-following model proposed by Bando,we consider the multi-phase traffic flow which will exist in traffic and choose the OV function of the multi-phase traffic flow proposed by Nagatani.The control method is used to analyze the model,in order to obtain the stability conditions of the model.Then the vehicle's speed difference between target vehicle and its preceding vehicle as the feedback control signal is added to the model and the control method is used to analyze the model to obtain the stability conditions.By comparing the stability conditions of the model with and without the feedback control signal,the influence of the feedback control signal is known for traffic flow.The theoretical analysis results are validated by numerical simulation.?.The influence of the non-motor vehicles for car-following model considering traffic jerkWith the consideration of the influence of the non-motor vehicles and traffic jerk for traffic flow,we proposed the improved car-following model based on the OV car-following model presented by Bando.The control method is used to analyze the stability of the model.The influence of the non-motor vehicles and traffic jerk is showed by the obtained stability conditions.A control signal which is the velocity difference between the target vehicle and its preceding vehicle is added into the improved model and the stability conditions are obtained by using the control method.Numerical simulations are used to show the results for the stability of the improved model with and without the feedback control signal.?.Full velocity difference car-following model considering desired inter-vehicle distanceBased on the full velocity difference car-following model proposed by Jiang Rui et al.,we put forward an improved car-following model by considering the driver's desired inter-vehicle distance which may affect the traffic flow.The stability conditions are obtained by applying the control method.The results of theoretical analysis are used to illustrate the influence of the difference between the desired inter-vehicle distance and actual inter-vehicle distance for the traffic flow.Numerical simulations are used to display the results for the stability of the improved model.
