Evaluation Of Barrier-free Design Of Public Space In Hospitals

With the increased demand of humanized service in building space and for the convenience of the aged and the disabled,the systematic and barrier-free design of architecture is becoming more and more important,and the problems are also becoming more and more obvious,especially the problems of medical buildings in this field.Therefore,it is very important to provide an improvable evaluation method,according to the current barrier-free environmental design of architecture,to promote the barrier-free environmental reconstruction of the existing medical buildings and improve the barrier-free environment of newly built medical buildings at the same time.This article takes the barrier-free public space in hospitals as the research object and takes its key points of the design into consideration to form the key elements and system for the evaluation of barrier-free public space in hospitals.Besides,the article also makes some suggestions to build up a scientific and systematic evaluation system for the barrier-free constructions of medical buildings based on the evaluation results of the existing hospitals in Shenzhen City.The main contents of this paper are:The first chapter gives a general introduction to the topic,including the study background and significance,studies of the topic at home and abroad,as well as the object,contents,purpose,methods and overview of the thesis.The second chapter analyzes the evaluation system of the design of barrier-free space.This chapter defines the concepts of " public space in hospital","barrier-free design" and "evaluation system" and briefly describes the development of evaluation system in architecture;then the chapter compares the barrier-free evaluation system in the United States,Japan and Germany with that in China,which provides references for the constructions of evaluation system of barrier-free public space in hospitals in China.The third chapter focuses on the evaluation elements of barrier-free public space in hospitals through analyzing the hospital outdoor public space(6 items)including outdoor square/ passage,blind sidewalk,entrances and exits of buildings,outdoor service facilities,signage system and parking space,and indoor public space(5 items)including horizontal traffic,vertical traffic,indoor sanitation facilities,service facilities and signage system.The fourth chapter concentrates on the construction of evaluation system of barrier-free public space in hospitals.This paper expounds the evaluation system of barrier-free public space in hospitals from six aspects,that is,main evaluation principles,supervision organizations,service recipients,evaluation content,evaluation indicators and evaluation standard.The fifth chapter concentrates on the evaluation validation of barrier-free public space in Shenzhen's hospitals.Firstly,this chapter,from the aspects of the general situation of Shenzhen Hospital,evaluation object selection,evaluation framework establishment and evaluation methods and process,elaborates on the evaluation preparation at the early stage and evaluation status and results and then points out the current situations and problems of the indicators and analyzes of the reasons;secondly,taking Peking University Shenzhen Hospital as an example,the chapter evaluates the barrier-free design of public space there and summaries the existing problems and then gives corresponding suggestionsThe sixth chapter makes a brief summary of the thesis and then points out its limitations and prospects to turn to universalized design and realize the standardized evaluation.
