For most of the engineering field,there are various forms and a large number of bolt connections,and they are easier to be destroyed.Bolt connection structure belongs to the nonlinear contact,lack of pre-tightening force?corrosion of bolt?the applying of long-term cyclic load and the degradation of bolt performance,all of the impacts can lead to the destroy of bolt,further,affect the mechanical properties of the whole structure.So it is an urgent need to discover the changes of structure`s mechanical properties due to bolt connection damage through more effective method.In all kinds of civil engineering infrastructures,such as bridges,high-rise buildings,long-span public buildings,rectangle section barrel is generally applied.As the main coupling form of rectangular barrel,bolt connection structure`s performance directly determines the stability of the whole structure.The damage of bolt which effects on the overall structure is mainly in the decline of prestressing force,the more serious damage may results in whole failure of bolt.Therefore,this article focus on the fo llowing three aspects: the first one is the performance of the structure as a whole effected by the changing of bolt pre-tightening force;Second,under the condition of the whole bolt failure,the bolt of the rectangular barrel flange connection reduced to two from ten,in order to respectively investigate the mechanical properties changes of the structural;The third one is that considering of the actual structure may sustain the outside load,we apply a horizontal load in the free end of the rectangular barrel in order to investigate the related vibration characteristics of the structure.The article embarks from the above three aspects,using the finite element analysis software ANSYS to analysis the modal of the rectangular barrel,by the method of control variables,comparing the three factors which affecting the rectangular barrel vibration characteristics,then we will compare the actual test data of the rectangular barrel with the results of finite element simulation analysis,and analyze the causes of error.Summarizing the law of rectangular barrel`s vibration characteristic by the influence of the above three factors,providing certain reference for the engineering practice.
