As the largest coal consumer,the freight volume of coal has been growing every year.However,it comes a serious pollution problems caused by coal dust.Coal dust not only pollutes the air,but also brings derivative problem including wastewater treatment and coal walk-off-loss.Thus,it is imperative to promote the dustless reform.Port is the junction point of sea-land multimodal transportation,and the key link in the coal supply chain.The demand for green,eco-port construction is becoming increasingly urgent.The requirements for coal ports are more than scale expanding.How to implement transportation with high efficiency,environment friendly and enhanced safety in this joint point,has become the pressing problem during the design and construction process.The application of coal silos which can provide closed storage space,can control the coal dust from the origin.However,there comes lots of problems when apply silos in coal ports,in case of the complex scheduling needs and huge loading and unloading quantity in ports.The most remarkable problem is how to improve the operation efficiency in the context of the comprehensive safeguards.In order to promote the dustless reform in ports,this paper introduces the application of silo storage system.A model is built to simulate the operation process of the coal terminals,under different scenarios of the train collection strategy and the single silo volume.Then,an operation cost model is used to do quantitative research from the aspects of production efficiency,environment friendly and enhanced safety,a method for determining the train collection period and single silo volume is proposed.The results show,the increase of train collection period can decrease the port time of ships,increase the port time of trains and the storage time of coal which is bad for the safety management.When the train unit time cost to ship unit cost per hour is less than 0.057,the increase of train collection period is benefit for cutting down the operation cost.When the value is bigger than 0.06,the results are reversed.When the train collection period is same,the bigger single silo volume means the lower operation cost.This paper built an operation cost model which takes multiple factors in account,to do omnibearing quantitative evaluation of coal port.A simulation model is used to research the key strategies in eco-friendly coal ports.The results can provide the theoretical basis and decision taking basis for the application of coal silos in ports.
