Simple material source tracing in the rise of modernist design,the end of the 19 th century,designers have to abandon the classical flashy trival adornment style,began to explore the new road design.The use of simple materials has created a series of different forms of architecture that are different from the traditional style.In the early 20 th century,under the influence of these architects,western design began to learn from these new forms of architecture.Since then,the simple materials have been widely used by designers.This is the construction of the modern design idea,advocated to remove richly trival adornment,advocate using simple architectural form,simple and unadorned building materials to shape the architectural space,makes it much easier to design and build.But the emergence of new design ideas and materials also severely impacted the original ideology of architecture and design.Therefore,the design and material application of space is still under the influence of social thought and various factors.The noisy and impetuous social environment,the space design that makes the light and strange land is designed endlessly,the choice of the space material and the space design still be in the shadow of the wind of vanity.So the application of plain materials in space is worth further study.This paper firstly discusses the essential characteristics of plain view and simple materials.Next to the decoration materials market and popular misconceptions are discussed,including the material in the modern space design problems such as pollution,waste and excess.By comparing the difference between plain material and luxurious materials,the problem of saving and resource waste is applied.In this paper,the importance and practicability of simple materials in the future space design are shown.In addition,the application of plain material in space is discussed in the paper,and the case of plain material space design is analyzed deeply.In order to improve the new properties of materials,this paper expounds the spatial design of this stage by using simple materials.In the process of research,the relevant properties of plain materials in the space and plain paper summarizes the types of materials,and illustrates the application of simple materials in space,form of expression.The paper follows a simple vein,meaning changes the application type of materials in the present space,and makes the plain material reflect a high quality and sustainable space culture.The paper means that in the design of space,the application of material type should be simple and concise,using recyclable waste materials for recycling.The use of the material should also be suitable for the local conditions,while protecting the natural ecological environment,the materials of local characteristics are used.Aiming at the design of space,we should abandon the over decoration and the luxurious material of the exterior,so as to construct the space environment that meets the needs of spiritual civilization.The paper concludes with the following conclusion:(1)To strengthen the natural properties of simple materials and design the space.(2)The organization of materials should be constructed according to the factors such as geography and culture.(3)The use of plain materials to shape the space of human atmosphere.
