In comparison with the other secondary power source systems,power lead-acid battery shows the obvious advantages of technology mat urity,safety,recycling utilization,temperature adaptation,voltage stability,consistency and cost.Therefore,lead-acid batteries in the secondary power supply market are still dominant products,and in quite a long time in the future,lead-acid battery will have a wide requirement in chemical power source market.For the return power lead-acid battery,even though they can pass the normal temperature test showing qualified capacity,the low temperature capacity cannot meet the requirement of clients.T herefore,it is of great significance in extending power lead-acid battery application field and scope of application that systematic studying of the influence factors of the low temperature performance and improving the low temperature performance by formula improvement and technological innovation of power lead-acid battery.From the point of the low temperature of power lead-acid battery performance,in this dissertation we studied the effects of several factors on the low temperature performance based on the 6DZM20 batteries.By capacity evaluation of batteries with different temperature and discharge voltage measurement of cadmium electrode,it can be concluded that,the low temperature performance of power lead-acid battery can be improved by adding 0.1% graphite in positive electrode.Moreover,the function mechanism is analyzed.By adding sodium sulfate,stannous sulfate in electrolyte the battery capacity can also be improved,but its negative effect cannot be ignored.By adding lignin sulfonic acid,humic acid sodium,carbon black and barium sulfate,the low temperature performance can be improved significantly.A combination of organic additives and inorganic additives is used to promote the low temperature performance of the battery.In this dissertation,the influence of additives on the low temperature performance of power lead-acid battery has been discussed comprehensively.The additives of 0.2 wt.% graphite in positive electrode,0.1 wt.% stannous sulfate and 1.5 wt.% sodium sulfate in electrolyte were used in the power batteries.Four kinds of additives of humic acid,carbon black,and barium sulfate lignin sulfonic acid sodium in negative electrode were used to improve the low temperature performance through comparison and combined test.The optimized recipe containing 0.2 wt.% sodium lignin sulfonic acid,0.3 wt.% humic acid,1.0 wt.% carbon black,1.0 wt.% barium sulphate is obtained.The recipe has been utilized and verified for the 6-DZM-20 batteries by small batch production test.Through the tests on the battery capacity,charging capability,rate capacity,100% DOD cycling,cadmium voltage detection and the morphology observation,it can be concluded that the electrode recipe can meet the requirements of the large current discharge,which has been verified for the 6-EVF-100 battery application in electric vehicles.
