Building and environment influence each other as a whole instead of being divide d.As one of the key elements of environment,the development of construction is deve loping and changing with the interacion between construction and environment.At thesame time,the expression form and meaning of construction differs with geographi cal environment.As the prominent nodes in regional environment,the key points of design of Community center are to maximize the adaptation with its built environme nt and express building at the same time by integrating basic elements of buildings suc h as site,structure,technology,and building and city,architecture and environment,the relationship between architecture and culture and other related issues.The case is a typical architectural and environmental design research of small pub lic building,with the author personally involved,elaborates the whole process of the b uilding including the early analysis,the formation of the concept and the program,the preliminary design,the expansion of the preliminary design,follow-up of the construct ion plans,construction,completion and acceptance,post-operational feedback: on the one hand,it is necessary to make community center buildings mutually compatible with the natural landscape environment of the waterfront.On the other hand,we should express the individuality of the building itself.Based on the study of architecture and environment of different environmental bac kgrounds,the article describes the relationship between small public buildings and envir onment mainly through some of the Historical and cultural environment,natural landsca pe environment,waterfront landscape environment,the urban living environment,analysises and summaries designing vocabularies about space and environment design expres sion,space construction,iconic,architectural form,and place to shape of community ce nter building,providing architecture theory and vocabulary for the waterfront architectu ral and environmental design such as Suzhou platinum yue rhinoceros lake community c enter.At the end of the article,the author summarizes and reconsiders with the experience of the follow-up of the various stages of the construction and environment design practice of Suzhou Platinum Lake rhinoceros Lake community center,and combines the individual's architectural design,building materials,construction technology,New understanding and understanding,as well as the architectural and environmental design of the community center of this small public building to summarize the expression of the future of architectural design prospects.
