In the context of energy-saving emission reduction,the reduction of vehicle drag and emission is one of the current research hot spots.The aerodynamic drag of the wheel is an important part of the automobile running resistance,and it is of great significance to study the pneumatic resistance of the wheel.In this paper,a commercial vehicle is used as a research object,first study the influence of the wheel tire system resistance by the coastdown test and the vehicle constant speed fuel consumption experiment.Then,the influence of the tire tread structure and the rim structure on the aerodynamic force is discussed by wind tunnel of floating static independent wheels.Finally,the FlowVision fluid dynamics simulation software was adopted to process aerodynamic simulation calculation of experimental model to verify the feasibility of the simulation calculation.In order to study the flow field of the wheel,the aerodynamic performance of the stationary and rotating wheels of the floating wheel and the ground wheel are studied respectively.The aerodynamic characteristics of the different longitudinal grooves of the wheel are studied.As the flow field of the independent wheel is different from the flow field under the vehicle,the standard MIRA model is used to simulate the aerodynamic drag of the vehicle.The influence of the wheel resting and turning on the aerodynamic performance of the vehicle is analyzed.Meanwhile,it is analyzed the influence of front and rear wheels on the aerodynamic characteristics of the vehicle,and the influence of different trench longitudinal grooves number and on vehicle flow field.Vehicle test results show that the rolling resistance of tire has little effect on vehicle fuel consumption with tire speed above 50km/h.There is no significant difference between different tires.The experimental results of wind tunnel with tire and rim are shown that the effect of spoke structure on aerodynamic drag is obviously greater than that of tread pattern.Computational fluid dynamics simulation results show that the influence of the wheel on the aerodynamic force of the vehicle is 24% of the vehicle's aerodynamic drag;the front wheel's pneumatic resistance accounts for 59.7% of the whole wheel.The influence of the change of the number of the longitudinal groove of the tire on the vehicle's pneumatic resistance is not great.The influence of aerodynamic performance is only 3.08%.With the increase of the number of longitudinal grooves,the aerodynamic drag coefficient of the vehicle increases first and then decreases.
