With the increasing of the number of cars,the environmental and energy problems are becoming more and more serious.The lightweight of automobile becomes the main development direction of automobile energy saving and emission reduction.Glass fiber reinforced thermoplastic composites(GFRTP)have great potential in the use of lightweight materials because of their advantages such as light weight,high strength,recycling and controllability of cost.At the same time,one of the most important characteristics of lightweight automotive parts is to meet the needs of large-scale production,so it is very necessary to study the preparation and the formability of GFRTP sheet.In this paper,the preparation of GFRTP sheet and the research on the formability of GFRTP sheet were studied as follows.The process parameters were determined based on the analysis of the influence factors of hot pressing temperature,holding time of temperature,molding pressure,holding time of pressure and cooling on the preparation of GFRTP.GFRTP sheet was prepared by hot pressing method.Through the comparative analysis of the same type of hot stamping and deep drawing equipment and the simple experiment of the existing equipment,a set of temperature and deep drawing equipment system was established.Combined with the characteristics of the equipment and the sheet,a suitable drawing die was designed and manufactured.Deep drawing experiments with different temperature and different drawing depth were carried out when sheet fiber direction of the outer surface of the GFRTP sheet and the long axis of the mould were 0 degree and 90 degree.The formability of the specimen was analyzed by means of macroscopic observation.The curves of different drawing force and stroke were compared and analyzed.Shallow drawing experiments of 3mm drawing depth at different temperature were carried out when sheet fiber direction of the outer surface of the GFRTP sheet and the long axis of the mould were 0 degree,45 degree and 90 degree.The tensile tests were carried out by using the forming specimen.The damage and tensile mechanical properties of the specimens were compared and analyzed.In this paper,using the method of experimental research,the preparation process,drawing formability and forming rules of GFRTP sheets were studied and analyzed.This provides a reference for the actual production and research of the rapid prototyping of composite parts.
