In recent years,the rapid development of wind power industry,now wind power has been one of the fastest growth energy in the world,rapid development of wind power industry also creates more employment opportunities,at present,the research on the wind generator is more and more thorough.The vertical axis wind turbine(VAWT)has become more and more important,because of its compact structure,applicable advantages in wind power industry,but the problem of low efficiency of vertical axis wind turbine has hindered its further development.CFD numerical simulation can be used to simulate the flow field distribution characteristics of the VAWT,and the use of CFD numerical simulation technology can reduce the complex experimental methods,and the cost.In this paper,the FLUENT software is used to study the performance calculation method of the VAWT,and the process of the VAWT simulation is summarized.Firstly the calculation process of VAWT simplified model for simulation calculation,obtains the flow field around the fan and the relevant performance parameters,compares the flow characteristics of the blade running at different tip speed ratio conditions,the flow phenomena is explaned by the intuitive flow picture,and the simulation is verified by experimental test.The influence of airfoil modification method on wind energy acquisition is studyed.The specific method is to replace the shape of the front part of the airfoil with the semi ellipse of different length and axial ratio,CFD simulation of different airfoils is calculated,and the optimal method is obtained.The results show that,the performance of the VAWT is the best with the 3:2 method,and the wind energy utilization coefficient is 0.384,which is higher than that of the original vertical axis fan by 17.6%.A baffle is installed at the upstream position of the two VAWT,and a low wind speed zone will be generated behind the baffle.Calculated by CFD numerical simulation,this paper studies the baffle parameters,distance between two VAWT,blade angle of wind power generator for energy,the small distance between the two VAWT will reduce the utilization coefficient of wind energy,width parameters of baffle gets the greatest impact,it is also studied based on the effect of baffle,changing the blade installation angle impacts on the performance of VAWT,it is calculated when the width parameter is 0.34,the distance parameter is 0.6,the height is 2000 mm,the blade installation angle of 4 degrees obtaining the obvious optimization of wind utilization,the calculated maximum wind energy utilization coefficient is 0.465,compared to the original VAWT up to 38%.
