The chaotic signal has a similar signal form with random noise,besides,it has initial sensitivity and has no obvious periodicity.It also has excellent autocorrelation and crosscorrelation property and thumbtack type ambiguity function.As a result,when used for ranging and imaging with anti-interference,it is not easy to be intercepted with a very high distance resolution advanta ges.The development of electronic and digital technology have also led to the continuous progress of virtual instruments.Firstly,the Lorenz chaotic system is simulated by Matlab,and then the chaotic system is programmed by Labview.Finally,the simulation of the chaos sonar is simulated by virtual instrument and Matlab.The main work is as follows: The 3D Lorenz chaotic system with reliable performance and stability is selected as the signal source.The chaotic sequence obtained by detailed study has the relatively compact effect in addition to the relatively compact energy spectrum.The chaotic echo signal is modeled and the distance migration correction is carried out.Due to different echo models,the new method of pulse compression is also studied for the chaotic FM signal and the LFM signal.The simulation of the point target shows that the Lorenz chaotic frequency modulation signal is not only applicable to the sonar in the ranging,but also can be realized in the aspect of imaging.The analysis and verification of the simulation experiment process and the results can prove that the virtual instrument has excellent precision in signal generation and the simple steps are realized by programming.The resolution of the simulation system can reach 2.8 times the resolution of LFM signal ranging.It is shown that the Lorenz chaotic FM signal can be used not only for sonar ranging,but also as the transmitted signal,it can be far higher than the resolution obtained by the LFM signal.In the following paper,the synthetic aperture imaging simulation can prove that the chaotic frequency modulation signal can be realized in the sonar imaging with great potential development value.
