A Study On The Historical Spatial Pattern And Its Inheritance Of Xiangyang

With a long history of construction and research of heritage protection,every city in China has accumulated a very deep historical and cultural space pattern.As Mr.Lewis Mumford said," each life has a different genetic,and each city has its own unique history." However,after experiencing the process of foreign cultural invasion and rapid urban development,cities now are generally faced with the barren embarrassment of constructive destruction.Therefore,how to dig and reshape the city's historical space pattern,to arouse the city's cultural self-confidence and shape the city's characteristics,has become an important proposition.As a famous historical and cultural city,Xiangyang possesses rich historical and cultural background and unique historical spatial pattern.But just as the general cities in China,it also experienced large-scale constructive destruction.Now the historical and cultural space of Xiangyang is running out and is mostly broken under the remains of cultural heritage.In addition,there is no detailed and explicit explanation about the historical spatial pattern of Xiangyang in the present literature.Based on the issue of historical and cultural heritage,this paper selects Xiangyang as a typical case to take a detailed analysis of historical and cultural excavation and inheritance of the city.Based on spatial survey and research framework,the paper first summarizes the relevant research and the historical spatial pattern of Xiangyang.Compared with different samples of urban space pattern in historical periods,the paper analyzes the morphological characteristics of historical samples and illustrates the basic appearance,the scope of city's spatial pattern and historical experience of construction from the aspects of identity element,pattern of organization relationship,group of domain plaque and pattern range.Secondly,through the city's overall planning and evolution course of space form,the paper analyzes and measures the history and modern landscape and sums up the pattern of Xiangyang historical heritage status.Finally,in view of arid cultural relic problem,and based on the current system of historical and cultural city protection,the paper builds up five heritage protection strategies of protection,identification,Renaissance,create and control,and puts forward the conceptual scheme to provide the support for the historical and cultural city protection plan.It also provides some inspiration and reference for the protection and inheritance of the historical spatial pattern of the same cities in China.
