In the field of engineering construction,We have more and more placed foundations on slopes or adjacent to slopes.However,the calculation the ultimate bearing capacity of these foundations did not keep pace with what the demand for practical engineering.In the current standard and present research work,there is still not a clear esposition about the failure mode of foundations on slopes or adjacent to slopes,there also has no accurate the ultimate bearing capacity of these foundations.Based on existing achievements,this paper tries to get a formula that more reasonable and more accord with the engineering applications,which calculate the ultimate bearing capacity of those foundation.The main contents are as follows(1)Based on existing achievements,this paper puts forward a new calculation method for the ultimate bearing capacity of foundation on slope or adjacent to slope.For the existing failure mode of foundation on slope or adjacent to slope,this paper research and analysis their advantages and disadvantages.The computation model has been developed for obtaining the ultimate bearing capacity of foundations on slopes or adjacent to slope(2)According to the calculation theory and calculation model,the computation formula to obtain the ultimate bearing capacity is deduced using limit equilibrium and limit analysis approaches.The influence of several factors to the ultimate bearing capacity is analyzed by MATLAB software.(3)On the side,Compare with the differences between the results of limit equilibrium and the results of limit analysis approachesare.One the other side,Compare the differences between the results of limit equilibrium and the achievements of Saran.Analyze the differences among them and what caused this difference.(4)The deformation and failure mechanism for foundations on slopes or adjaccent to slopes is studied by numerical simulation,as a result,the displacement field and stress field under different conditions of these foundtions soil are obtained.Bases on the results from the numerical simulation,the influence of factors such as internal friction angle,angle of slope,distance from the edge of slope base on the ultimate bearing capacity of foundations on slopes or adjacent to slopes is analyzed.
