The hybrid arm aerial work vehicle is a kind of aerial work vehicle,which belongs to the construction crane.It is widely used in high-altitude areas,such as electric power line installation/repair on the top of high voltage poles and exterior surface decoration for high-rise buildings etc.And it is designed to raise workers and goods to high-altitude location to perform designated works,so the demands for safety performance and antirollover performance are of critical importance.In this paper,the finite element method has been employed to analyze and improvement the structure of a newly designed hybrid arm aerial vehicle.In terms of the geometric characteristics of extension/retraction boom,the paper uses the ANSYS parametric design language and completes universal modular modeling program for extension/retraction boom which reduces the difficulty of modeling,facilitates the later optimization of the model and shortens the modeling cycle.According to the relationship between each other,the finite element model of the aerial work vehicle is established after the assembling the finite element model that is independently established.According to the geometrical structure and the force characteristics of the derricking mechanism of aerial work vehicle,adopting the basic knowledge of the theoretical mechanics,the calculation formula of the axial force of each hinge point is deduced.Comparing these theoretical solutions derived are compared with the finite model analysis results.The paper proves that the establishment of finite element model and boundary conditions are correctly.It lays the foundation for the further study on the mechanical performance and structural improvement of the aerial work vehicle.Taking into account the influence of the contact between the extension/retraction boom,the finite element analysis of the mechanical performance of the working device in the typical working conditions was carried out.Analysis results show that the stress in most parts of working apparatus is less than permissible stress,except the mutation region of the turntable,the supporting bracket,and the contact area of extension/retraction boom.So the structure improvement is carried out.According to the problem that the local stress beyond the permissible stress,the structure of the turntable and the bracket is improved by adding ribbed slab and changing the array of structure,and the structure of extension/retraction boom is optimized by using a new corner-shaped sliding blocks.The improvement scheme is proposed to improve the mechanical performance of the working apparatus of the aerial work vehicle,The final design has been adopted by the collaboration company and the corresponding product is being manufactured.
