Paved and assembled pavement has been widely applicated in urban construction because of its quick and easy construction and repair craft. However, the ordinary assembled pavement with vertical joint can not bear high load because it lacks horizontal restraint. So it is prone to produce serious subsidence or faulting of slab ends and other damage phenomenon under heavy vehicle load. But in fact, with the increasing vehicle load of city, port, and airport pavement, the load-horizontal diffusion capacity of the assembled structure is becoming more and more important, and it is necessary to adapt to the continuous improving traffic requirements by improving its capacity of load diffusion. In this paper, take the capacity of load diffusion of paved and assembled pavement structure as research target, the basic principle of the load-horizontal diffusion of the improved pavement structure is analyzed and its mechanical analysis model is discussed. The stress characteristics and deformation law of the pavement structure under heavy load are analyzed based on the theoretical analysis of the load-horizontal diffusion performance and the finite element numerical simulation. The load characteristics are also discussed and the principle and requirements in the optimal structual parameter selection of the pavement structure are put forward under the load of aircraft based on the results of the indoor test about the pavement.Finite element numerical analysis results of the paved and assembled pavement structure show that, the influence of the length of the block's longer side and its thickness on the deflection of the road surface are related to the subgrade strength. When the subgrade strength is high, the longer side and larger thickness of the block are better for the deflection reduction, however, considering the construction convenience, the thickness of the block should not exceed 200mm;The soil resilient modulus varies from 20 MPa to 80 MPa,the pavement deflection and the vertical compressive strain can be effectively reduced, but the reduction effect is not significant if continuing to increase the soil resilient modulus when it reaches more than 50MPa;The deflection of the road surface and the vertical compressive strain of the basement decrease significantly when the thickness of the base layer is changed from160 mm to 220mm;The stress concentration phenomenon is most likely to occur at the edgeand corner of the block, especially when the block inclination exceeds 45°.Finite element numerical analysis of the paved and assembled pavement structure and its indoor experiment results show that, with the increase of the length of the block's longer side, the thickness of the block and the inclination of the side of the block, the pavement deflection and the vertical compressive strain are reduced correspondingly and the inclination of the side of the block has the greatset influence on the stress characteristics of the pavement. When the block inclination changes from 15° to 30°,the vertical compressive strain can be reduced by21%,and the deflection of the road surface can be reduced about 40% for maximum, and This reduction effect is more remarkable when the length of the longer side of the block is larger and the soil modulus is smaller, but the block inclination should not be greater than 45° when considering edge effects.
