With the development of inter-area electric power systems,leading to damping weakened of power system and prone to low frequency oscillation,and seriously threaten the security and stability of power system,so it is necessary to study the power system damping control technology.Due to the energy storage damping controller with dynamic control of active power and reactive power capability,to take the initiative and quick-response unbalanced power,can improve power system damping and present a novel idea and a new method for damping control of power system.Application of the energy storage damping controller needs to resolve its siting and sizing.To this end,this paper focuses on optimal allocation of energy storage damper to study related issues.Based on the implementation and application of energy storage damper,from the technical characteristics and application requirements,economic benefit and optimal allocation of the various types of energy storage,analysis of related issues for energy storage technology application in power system,and draw some valuable conclusions.Combined with the requirement of damping low frequency oscillation,by the comparative study from the aspects of technical performance and economic benefits,energy storage type of energy storage damping controller is suggested.In this thesis,the nature of low frequency oscillation is analyzed with oscillation energy,the relationship between oscillation energy and damping is established.Based on energy storage damping controller siting,optimal allocation method of damper according to oscillation energy and oscillatory mode shape is presented,judged by the cutsets oscillation power of different levels of network to locate the weak areas of power system,thereby steering damper optimal allocation.The method has clear and simple physical meaning,suitable for optimizing layout of energy storage dampers in large power systems.For energy storage capacity allocation of damping power oscillation,the evaluation index of the stability of power system is presented.Based on the stability of power system and economy of energy storage damping controller,energy storage capacity optimization mathematical model is established,and using non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm with elitist strategy NSGA-II solve the model,the result was appropriate for the application requirements of energy storage configuration scheme.
