With the development of economy and science and technology,as well as the rising of people’s living standard,people pay more and more attention into the ride comfort and handling stability when they drive.As an important part of automobile,the automobile suspension system determines the handling stability and riding comfort in the process of driving.And the air spring suspension has unique nonlinear characteristics,which has excellent performance comparing with the traditional automobile suspension.Based on the theory of nonlinear dynamics,the diaphragm air spring suspension has carried on the theoretical analysis and experimental research,and the dynamic model of air spring suspension system is established.Then based on the analytical method of nonlinear dynamics,the dynamical solution for air spring suspension system is obtained.The dynamic behavior under the condition of determinate excitation is analyzed,and the possibility of chaotic phenomena is studied.Then,the full vehicle model is established based on the software of ADAMS/Car.The air spring suspension,steering,body,tires and engine subsystems are established.And the full vehicle model is assembled by connecting each subsystem models with communicators.At the same time,according to the national standard test method for vehicle handling stability,steady turning performance of the vehicle model,several types of test simulation such as steady rotation,steering wheel angle step input,steering wheel angle pulse input,turn back,crawling,double line are simulated.The changing curve of simulation date is drawn with the function of ADAMS/PostProcessor.The handling stability of the performance is evaluated comprehensively by analyzing the simulation data.Finally,the optimum type of car was optimized basing on the comprehensive evaluated function of handling and stability performance.First of all,the sensitivity of each suspension design point in the vehicle handling stability is analyzed.Then,the suspension design point which has great influence on the handling stability is optimized by the software of ADAMS/Insight,so that each suspension parameter has a reasonable range.the simulation results of handling stability before and after optimization are analyzed and compared.According to the simulation test curves and data,this method improves the vehicle handling stability in some way.
