With the rapid development of intelligent transportation system,vehicular network has entered the public view. The rapid rise of vehicle network results in the demand of studying the traffic characteristics of the network. Similar to the traditional networks, in vehicle network it is also needed to analyze the network traffic in order to optimize it and analyze the impact it does to the existing network. However, due to the complexity of the road environment and the restrictions from the network operators,traffic collection has always been a limiting factor for traffic analysis.The major work of this thesis is to solve the problems of traffic collecting mentioned above, which provides foundation for data traffic related research. The most basic and accurate way to collect traffic data is to monitor the place directly. In order to overcome the restriction from the operators r of not able to access the data from base stations, at the same time as realistic as possible to reflect the vehicle network traffic characteristics, this thesis studies the vehicle mobility of mobile nodes,immitates the states of vehicle network, and analyze vehicle network application characteristics, using NS3 and SUMO. This work can collect the data traffic produced from the vehicles and exclude other mobile traffic, which can be some support for study of the characteristics of vehicle network traffic.Based on the collected vehicle network traffic information, this thesis presents a traffic-based RSU deployment method on the basis of the analysis and summarization of the existing RSU deployment methods.
