| For the mineral oils,the film thickness formula of the classical elastohydrodynamic lubrication(EHL)which is broadly used in the research of film-forming properties may be accurate.But,for the synthetic oils,the classical Newtonian EHL gives the higher film thickness than the actual one,because of the shear-thinning rheological properties of oil.In practical application,lubricating oils used in mechanical components are often made up of base oil and various additives.So the classical EHL theories are not applicable to tribology design.This paper considered the domestic synthetic oils as research object and studied the influence of shear-thinning non-Newtonian rheological properties on film-forming characteristics of domestic lubricating oil.Firstly,film thickness measuring instrument was improved,which made the thickness measuring system more automated.Secondly,film thickness analysis software was developed to analyze film thickness interferometric image more accurately.Finally new film thickness formula for domestic oil was obtained based on the test data.Film forming mechanism for domestic oil was studied experimentally.Theorical basis met the practical application was established for domestic oil.The main work of this paper is as follows:(1)In order to improve the measurement precision of measuring system,film thickness measuring instrument was improved to realize the automation,which eliminated the error of human operation and found a solid foundation for the further research.(2)In order to obtain the measured value,the software was developed,which is based on Microsoft Visual C++ programming software.Using this software could eliminate the influence of noise,improving the accuracy of the film thickness measurement(3)Based on the experimental data,the EHL film thickness formula of domestic lubricating oil is obtained and the relevant experiment is designed to verify the film thickness formula,this paper also studied the film-forming characteristics of the shear thinning domestic lubricating oil. |
