The application of natural gas to replace the traditional diesel and petrol is an effective way to achieve energy saving and reduce environmental pollution. The focus of the studies on dual fuel engine performance research has changed from fuel alternative to combustion in cylinder and chemical reaction mechanism. In essence, engine combustion process revelation provides theoretical basis and support for the design and optimization control of dual fuel engine.The heat release rate calculation model of dual fuel engine has been discussed in this paper, first proposed a calculation method of dual fuel heat release rate with a empirical model, and verified the selection of empirical model. At the same time considering the influence of composition and specific heat of gas in cylinder with the temperature changed.2135 Marine diesel engine has been transformed into dual fuel engine. Experiment research on different load, speed and the substituted ratio, and verified the new model accuracy through the calculation of heat release rate. Comparing the combustion characteristics of diesel engine and dual fuel engine summarizes the law of dual fuel engine combustion characteristics with engine speed and load changes.Finally based on the contrast of traditional diesel heat release rate model, the equivalent fuel heat release rate calculation model and the new model verified the model by a satisfying agreement between new model and the actual situation. Apply the new calculation model for the studies of combustion characteristics in dual fuel engine had been tested, the results show that the exothermic characteristics and physical characteristics in cylinder were significant different in dual fuel engine and diesel engine, and combustion characteristics of dual fuel engine is greatly affected by speed and load, the direction and degree of the influence are different. |
