A testing structure which carrying some equipment is always employed in evaluating the warship’s overall performance. Comparing to fix-piled testing platform, the mobile testing ship has a great advantage such as lower initial cost and easy maintenance, it is therefore significant to design and study a mobile testing ship.In this paper,a catamaran form is selected as the carrier of test equipment,and its structural member’s scantling is determined according to the requirements of CCS ’Rules for Classification of Sea-Going Steel Ships’ and ’guideline for SWATH Craft’. In order to reduce the structure weight, the structure layout is optimized. It’s based on the theory of zero-order optimization and used ANSYS parameterized language APDL to build parametric modeling,then obtained structure of the optimal results. To evaluate the testing ship strength, FEM software ANSYS is used in checking the yielding strength under combination conditions and then find out the region of stress concentration. The hot spots above-found are chosen to analyze the fatigue strength in means of design wave approach based on S-N curve and fatigue cumulative damage theory, and the fatigue life of specified nodes is obtained . Finally,using the optimized structure as the research object, established finite element model for impact simulation analysis. Using the French Dssault company’s finite element analysis software ABAQUS to simulate the process of impact load, then research the structure’s stress distribution and deformation rules after the collision impact moments.
