As a renewable energy, tidal energy has tremendous potential and are becoming a hot topic at home and abroad in recent years. Use of tidal energy is mainly relying on the platform,which mooring system is of great significance to the system safety. About the platform mooring system, most research focus on offshore drilling platform, which is not work for the tidal station platform due to the different working environment. Especially the difference of depth, the current mooring system is great different from deep-water drilling platform mooring system. Mooring system on research tidal current station platform, literatures available are less, which makes the design of the mooring system very difficult. In this context a tide power plant is taken as the platform in this paper, and the role of the turbine is considered more reasonably through the secondary development of software. The elastic rope and buoy are applied to mooring system innovatively, which has great importance for the design of future mooring system.The energy background, tidal current energy development status, and the status of development of the mooring system are introduced. Next, the basic hydrodynamic theory applied in this paper, including the frequency domain theory and simple time-domain theory,are shown. Taking into account the cyclical turbine load and the calculation of turbine in our lab, the secondary development of software is done with FORTRAN language, which is verified in the third chapter.In the design of the mooring system, an elastic rope is added the mooring system by using catenary theory. And the effect of the elastic rope on mooring system is investigated by taking the position and length of elastic rope as variables. By investigating the displacement and tension of chain in different depth, the differences from traditional mooring system are studied.By comparing with FPSO mooring system, a mooring plan containing buoy is given.Taking into account the form of the turbine load, the design method on buoy displacement is briefly introduced. By optimization and calculation on the shape of the buoy, the conclusion that a spherical buoy is the best is concluded. To further study the influence of the buoy, the angle and distance between buoy and the platform, as well as the depth, are taken as variables,which obtains important conclusion.
