In the field of power system engineering,a lot of analysis and calculation to power network can be evolved into solving the linear equations from the angle of mathematics.It has been a common way to deal with linear equations by putting the coefficients and constants into a matrix.Nowadays,with the progress of computing technology,the matrix solution methods are updated constantly.By establishing the mathematical model and programming on the computer to complete increasingly complex computing of power system network computing has become a normal method to research power system network calculation.This paper firstly introduced the traditional electric power system of linear equations solving algorithm,Gauss elimination method,factor table method,triangle decomposition method.Then put the new type of symmetric sparse matrix technology into the traditional method.Aiming to large-scale matrix calculation in electric power system,the new method makes full use of the structure characteristics of the matrix,and mutual symmetry and the high sparsity of the elements,which saves the calculation of a large number of zero elements and the unnecessary elements.Thus makes the storage space saved and the operation efficiency improved.through the comparison of the new method and the traditional method,the feasibility and effectiveness of symmetric sparse matrix technology were proved.Which also proves that not only in the field of power system but also in other scientific and engineering fields,symmetrical sparse matrix technology can be efficiently used.
