Stable combustion of fuel for coal-fired boilers is the guarantee of safe running and economic operation.The secondary air is one of the most important factors in qualities of burning that its flow rate is directly related with the ignition characteristics?burning efficiency and load regulation for stations.Therefore,the accuracy of the measurement and monitoring for the flow rate of the secondary air can improve the safety and economy of the station,and the level of automation can also be raised.Comparing the scope of application and features of different air flow meter,it is summarized the main problems in measuring the second air in the station.On the basis of understanding of the flow detection method principle?flow measuring device,it is proposed make use of the whole-section inserted auto-dust-cleaned air flow meter if factors like fluid property?piping layout?installation maintenance?cost and profit?accuracy and precision of measuring are taken into consideration.This device has the advantages of convenience to realize the multipoint measuring?auto-dust-cleaning and the small area of throttling.What's more the results of the application of the device in the power station proved that it can improve the accuracy and minimize the energy consumption.This kind of methods of measurement promotes the accuracy of load regulation,reduces its energy consumption,increases the economic benefits and strengthens energy market competitiveness of enterprises,so as to be beneficial for the continuous development of the cause of energy conservation and emission reduction.
