Converter valve is the key equipment in the process of direct current transmission,in order to ensure its reliable operation,the converter valve needs to be checked.The development background of intelligent inspection robot used in the valve hall and indoor DC equipment are introduced in this paper.According to the characteristics of strong electromagnetic and closed environment of DC converter station,through the modular design of rail system,the inspection robot body design,communication system design and the design of navigation and positioning system,we have developed a new modular rail intelligent inspection robot which can be used in the field of valve hall and indoor DC field to detect the appearance and infrared temperature measurement of converter valve tower,casing and other equipments.What we fill the lack of technology about inspection robot use in the DC converter valve hall,and presented an efficient special monitoring technique for real-time online condition monitoring of the DC indoor equipment.The intelligent inspection robot can execute inspection tasks by manual operation,carry on the inspection according to the preset task automatically,and find anomalies of the converter equipment in a timely manner.The system architecture,track drive system,communication system and application software system are explained.The indoor layout introductions,path equipment installation,straight-line and turn driving are descripted in detail,and argue the actual and potential benefit analysis of the application.The application show that the intelligent inspection robot system has the features of reasonable structure,reliable running,high detection efficiency and quality,so it can replace manual labor for regular inspection.I-shaped(The shape of “?”)combined modular orbit,visible light camera,infrared thermal imager are used in hardware of the robot,and the robot realizes precise positioning,video detection,temperature detection,etc.The software based on computer hardware,Microsoft's Windows operating system,SQL database system and Net Framework2.0 language editor component,complete the calculation and display of various data.Industrial operation showed that the combination of the background real-time monitoring system and the intelligent inspection robot's off-line mobile monitoring of the valve hall and indoor DC field,realized the comprehensive monitoring and control of DC converter station,and increased the power grid security and stability greatly.
