The hangar is the key place of aviation fire protection,and the current fire control system is generally a foam rain system.However,in the actual operation process,there are many defects such as environmental pollution,waste of resources,low efficiency of heat cooling,and possibility of secondary disasters.In order to maximize the protection of aircrafts and hangars,enhance the ability of firefighting and reduce the secondary hazards,the research team has carried out the research on application of high pressure water mist in hangar.Aiming at the characteristics of the hangers,such as semi-open and large-scale space,large fire loads of leakage of aviation kerosene and so on,the paper designed and built a high pressure water mist fire suppression platform in a semi-open and large-scale space,which can support a variety of high-pressure water mist fire extinguishing technology cooperation.In this 6.8m high ventilation tunnel,taking 1 m2 to 4 m2 aviation kerosene pool fire as the fire extinguishing object,the fire suppression abilities of three kinds of different flow coefficients(K=1.0、K=1.7 and K=2.5)of top spraying high pressure water mist and the flow rate of 32L/min of the mist spray gun were tested.The effects of space height,water mist flow rate,pool fire size and fire extinguishing mode on the effectiveness of high pressure water mist fire suppression were analyzed.It was found that:(1)When the size of the pool fire increases to a critical value,the height of the hangar roof will seriously inhibit the combustion of aviation kerosene pool fire.In this experiment,when the plate side increased to 2m,the combustion characteristics would change and begin to be unsteady;(2)Comparison of 3 different flow top spray water mists’ pool fire suppression ability suggests that the best cooling effect is the water mist flow with the flow coefficient K=2.5,and the best radiation attenuation effect is the water mist with the flow coefficient K=1.7;according to the relation between water mist flow coefficient and mist flux,this paper suggests that the K=1.7 of water mist in accordance with the spacing of 2.47 m will have the best kill the ability of fire;(3)The experimental results show that the top spray water mist fire extinguishing system can effectively suppress the pool fire,but it is difficult to completely extinguish the pool fire;while the hand-held water mist spray gun can extinguish the fire in 1min,but it is difficult to control the space temperature and radiation intensity.In order to meet the civil aviation "1 minute fire control advantage",protecting the hangar should applying the top spray water mist fire extinguishing system with other portable fire extinguishing equipment.
