The Research Of Soft Decoration Theme Hotel

Currently, the development of China hotel industry is not cheerful, and the hotel overall turnover has been increasing very slowly since 2012, among which the one-star,two-star and three-star hotels are at stagnation, caused by the single hotel style, old room decoration and no obvious features. Therefore, there is a great demand for the appearance of hotels with fresh and distinct differences. Soft furnishing design which is used to present the features and express feelings in theme hotels, makes up for the shortages in traditional hotels, and is widely utilized in various types of theme hotels. Soft furnishing design is aimed at providing a living space and environment of high quality by combining the basic theory and professional knowledge.Based on theme hotels, this paper investigates the current soft furnishing designs used in several theme hotels in China by means of interview,literature review and a great many practices analysis, which puts emphasis on the application principles and strategies. It also proposes new requirements, such as utilizing field features properly, sticking to the theme content, and making innovations to the existing "take-ism" and the like.First chapter of the paper mainly talks about the development background, research purposes, research methods of the soft furnishing design and theme hotels and the current situations of the researches in both China and abroad. Then it states some theories related to soft furnishing design and theme hotels including definition, classification, function and so on,and it provides theory foundation for the analysis in following parts. After that,local flavor types of theme hotels are employed to investigate the application of soft furnishing design. Through analysis and comparison, the shortcomings of the soft furnishing design in theme hotels are figured out, and then instructions and practical strategies are put forward to solve these shortcomings. Finally,by combining theories and practices,the author states the performance styles and functions of the soft furnishing design in current study with the purpose of providing assistance for related study by other researchers.
