Radiation noise is an important performance characteristic of the underwater vehicle, such as ships?submarine?and torpedo. It is also the valid signal for sonar equipment to detect?recognize and track targets. As a result, radiation noise research has a significant meaning for studying the ships. Taking the research of radiation noise level as background, range system between underwater target and measuring platform is completed, which provides the service for radiation noise level measurement.Common target ranging methods are discussed in the thesis. According to the signal forms, waveform selection process and parameter selection process are discussed in detail, range acquisition signal system is also selected. Then based on the real application environment, synchronous clock range acquisition design is confirmed. System measurement accuracy and parameter are analyzed owhich makes a foundation for the hardware platform. The software platform of range finder in the underwater range system and the design of synchronizer are completed in the thesis. To the software of range finder, the correlated time delay estimation theory and target detection method against the typical detection disturbance according to waveform is introduced. It also completes the signal processing and data storage;to the synchronizer, the software and hardware are designed to realize the synchronization between acoustic beacon and the range finder, which guarantees the precision of system. At last, comprehensive test is undertaken to test the working performance of the system, which verifies the working state?performance index of the system. The consequence of the test shows that the system can complete the distance measurement steadily and stably, which meets the demand.
