The Decorative And Practical Character Of Movie Props Derivatives And Their Connections

This year,in the?13th Five-Year Period of Cultural Reform and Development Plan?published by the Ministry of Culture our government have set the great goal to develop the cultural industry as the pillar industry of China's economy.The weight percentage of film and film industry in cultural industry is high and it's closely related to people's daily life.In recent years,China's film industry value has increased until now from 1 billion in 2003 to 40 billion.We can see that the increasing rate is very faster,besides,the movie props derivatives proportion in the film industry is getting heavier and heavier.The design of movie props is a type of art and the goal is to create a reasonable and comfortable way of life.Movie props derivatives which feature the functional and decorative characterization will give people a sense of comfort and satisfaction.The functional and decorative properties of a good design is not contradictory,indeed a successful movie props derivatives should combine those two characters.Focusing on the development of movie prop derivatives is the main link to further promote the film industry growth.It is also the inevitable requirement to promote the spirit of craftsmen and achieve the grand goal of the Ministry of Culture.Based on the market investigation,this paper analysed the principles that we should follow in the development of movie props from the design point of view.Besides,we have taken the excellent design cases to demonstrate the relationship of practical and decorative property of film props derivatives.From the individual level,the design of props derivatives belongs to the basic unit of the design field,and the design rely on the theme.Seems there is no necessary relationship between the practicality and decoration.However,from the overall level,there is relationship between them in a sense of value-added and artistic communication.In the process of development,we should integrate the product demand of our society and the requirements of modern context to design a cultural connotation,practical and decorative movie props derivative,which is the focus of this study.We elaborates the design idea of movie prop derivatives of the movie “Christmas Legend” and come to the concept that a successful movies prop derivatives should be a combination of decorative and practical property,which not only satisfy the needs of consumers but also promote the growth of film industry.
