In the development of laser-guided weapons,whether the laser spot can accurately illuminate the target is an important consideration.Whether the laser spot can accurately target the target is directly related to the missile hit rate.However,in the actual range test,the laser beam emitted by the guided weapon will be affected by atmospheric turbulence,interference light and noise.The laser spot image collected by the spot instrument is not ideal,and its position will produce some deviation which requires to process the spot image taken in the shooting range in order to accurately find the center of the spot and the target.In this paper,a set of algorithms for detecting the position of laser spot and target quickly and efficiently by using digital image processing theory is used to process the image taken by the range spot instrument.The work done in this paper is divided into three parts.The first part mainly analyzes the detection and restoration of the spot image,and introduces three methods for detecting the spot image from the video stream.Based on the application of the actual experiment,we analyze the spot detection algorithm which is suitable for a spot instrument.Because of the motion blur when the target is irradiated by the spotting instrument and the noise characteristic of the spot image,we adopt the image restoration method based on the wavelet transform and verify the effectiveness of the method.The second part is mainly to filter and segment the image.The image filtering part is for discussing and verifying different filtering methods.Since the position of the spot center will be affected in the denoising process.Combined with different noise characteristics,finding a denoising method which can effectively remove the noise and have less influence on the focal center of the light spot.through the experiment.The image segmentation part proposes an improved fuzzy C-means clustering image segmentation method,which can segment the image effectively;Finally is the data processing part for calculating the center of the spot and the target.The center of thespot is calculated by three different methods.The accuracy and time complexity of different methods are different.It is proved that the circular fitting algorithm is better for the detection of the center of the spot,and it can meet the needs of the research content in the accuracy and time.In the calculation of the target center.Firstly we should detect the straight line,followed by multiple detection method which used to extract the target center,and then get the center position parameters.At the end of this paper,the algorithm is validated.The images collected by outdoor experiment are used to demonstrate and analyze.Through doing a series of processing for the image,the center of the spot and the target position parameters can be obtained.The applicability and validity of the algorithm are verified.
