Research On Li Chuan Old Street Of Traditional Architecture

Traditional architecture is generated and evolved under the influence of specific natural geographic environment and humane environment;it is also directly influenced by folk tradition and folk customs,living habits and so on.Those buildings inherited the regional superior culture,traditional architectural techniques,traditional building styles,space patterns etc.Lichuan County in Fuzhou city,Jiangxi province is located in the middle of Gandong area.Lichuan Old Street as the representative of culture exchange development of Jiangxi and Fujian remains a large number of traditional buildings,which make it become the main carrier of Jianchang Culture and with rich historical humanistic values.There are plenty of traditional architectural sites distributed in Lichuan Old Street.However,due to the present scarcity in the study of the traditional buildings in this area and people’s lack of value cognition for traditional folk buildings,the protection of the historical preservation encounters difficulties and many are faced with serious damages,two protrusive phenomena are man-made destruction and culture relics been stolen,which leads to the lose of original appearance of the ancient buildings.Therefore,the characteristics of traditional architectures in Lichuan,Jiangxi province are in urgent needs of excavation and research.This research selected Lichuan county in Fuzhou city Gandong area as the main study region,which analyzed and researched the characteristics of the regional traditional architectures.The ancient buildings in Lichuan Old Street are well preserved,of high quality and great quantity;they are also constructed with fine materials and superb techniques,identified as the typical representative of Gandong folk buildings,all these made the street of rich study value.The main research object of this paper is the traditional architectures in Lichuan Old Street,Fuzhou city,Jiangxi province.The overall train of thought is in progressive development.First of all from the natural geography and history,economy and culture,to study the regional background of Li Chuan old street.Then analyze the key point emphasized in the paper,delve deeper of the theme preliminarily,and investigate the distribution of the traditional architecture heritages.Next,make a conclusion of the type and shape features of the traditional architectural characteristics by analyzing its plane layouts,space patterns,materials and decorations,which is also the core concept of the paper.Meanwhile,figure out some clues of how the cultural geographical factors affected the establishment of the buildings;further substantiate the contents of the study;give prominence to the commercial cultures of Lichuan Old Street and the exchange features between Jiangxi and Fujian by comparing Lichuan to the regions nearby.Finally,make a summary of the research value and promote persistent and developmental suggestions.The thesis consists of six chapters and can be divided into the following aspects according to the organizational structures:The first chapter which defined the purposes and significance of the study,further illustrated the research object and content,and at the same time,by analyzing and investigating the traditional architecture through cultural geographical study,proposed the study methods and frameworks,which is of guidance function to the paper;The second chapter detailed the natural geographical and social humanistic backgrounds of Lichuan Old Street and summarized the backgrounds of formation reasons;The third chapter,starting with a large number of constructional examples,analyzing in-depth of some typical cases,organizing and drafting the mapping data of Lichuan Old Street traditional buildings,using written documents,pictures,tables,plotting drawings and some other methods to display,analyze and sum up the fundamental features of the traditional buildings which contain the flat shape,facade formation,structure and component,decoration,etc.Mastering the type and shape characteristics of the buildings in a macroscopic way and then making a conclusion;The fourth chapter,further compare the characteristics of Lichuan Old Street’s traditional buildings in a vertical and horizontal way on the basis of analyzing and researching.To highlight the cultural geographical features of the ancient buildings in Lichuan Old Street by exploring the characteristics’ style localization in different regions;The fifth chapter,analyzing the formation reasons of geographical characteristics of Lichuan Old Streets’traditional architectures from the dual natural geographical and humanistic perspective,and summarizing the cultural geographical features of Lichuan Old Street’s traditional buildings;The final chapter,to evaluate the values of Lichuan Old Street’s traditional architectures.Based on reality,inheriting the material carrier created by the culture communication between Jiangxi and Fujian and making reasonable suggestions for the protection and utilization of the traditional buildings in Lichuan Old Street,looking ahead to a better future of Lichuan Old Street under the new era and new situation.
